I have a lot to live up to.

Okay, I was tagged and I am excited to fill out this tag but I have a lot to live up to. I was tagged from my friend Joey. She is one awesome girl and was able to write down 20 random things, shortcomings, facts, habits, or goals about herself that were GREAT! Now I have to do the same about myself. Here we go...
1. I can suck a balloon inside out.
2. I am mildly allergic to a lot of things but it doesn't stop me from eating them or being around them. That is why I am the new sponsor for benadryl.
3. I am not addicted to benadryl and I don't even take it very much but I do look up to the inventor of that fine drug.
4. I have been told I look like sandra bullock...she must be generic looking because my friend Sarah has been told the same thing and she really does look like her...but prettier really.
5. My foot is a foot long....I get asked to measure things a lot.
6. I played the Oboe for 6 years and would like to get a nice one to play again.
7. I have always wondered why it is that the older I get, the more cautious/conservative I get.
8. I enjoy camping and hiking very much but i haven't been for a couple years.
9. I enjoy the geese that fly around my house and I hope they don't get scared off by my roommates dad who is going to shoot them.
10. I want to be a better golfer.
11. As I have grown up my patience for others and myself has increased in most aspects but in all other aspects it has depleted drastically.
12. I really like Yoga and exercising and feel the great benefits of it when I do it but I still struggle to do it as often as I should.
13. I enjoy laughing and hearing other people laugh.
14. I love my family differently now than I did even 10 years ago. I think one of the great purposes of life is to increase in your ability to love and that is where a lot of happiness comes from.
15. Out of squid and Cow tongue, I prefer squid.
16. The tulip is my favorite flower and the orange, yellow, and red simple ones are my favorite kind. I could care less about the purple and pink ones.
17. I feel like I "get" people and that's one of my talents
18. I love Jeans.
19. My three favorite "older" movies are 7 brides for 7 brothers, White Christmas, and Pillow Talk.
20. I don't think it was events or tasks needing to be accomplished that have brought me to where I am today but more the people I was supposed to meet and learn from.

Once you’ve been tagged, you have to write a note with 20 random things, shortcomings, facts, habits or goals about you. At the end choose 20 people to be tagged and tell why you tagged them. You have to tag the person who tagged you.

I am going to follow the lead of my friend Joey and tag everyone who reads this. Let me know when you complete the 20 interesting items about you so I can read them too!

My Favorite Things

I know I have been a delinquent blogger and I would really like to apologize to those people who feel their lives have changed due to the fact I haven't blogged in three months. I know, it must have been tough. I hope this blog will make up for a little but hopefully I will be able to show more effort in the near future. About three months ago my friend, roommate, and partner in crime tagged me in her blog and requested I write about 5 of my favorite things. Here you go!!

This is my family. They are included in my list of favorite things. I love my family very much and wish I spent more time sharing more memories with them. We all have different lives but it's always nice to get together and talk about what is going on, play games, or laugh over old stories. I am excited for the holidays and some time off work so I can spend more time with my family. I love you guys.

I have been blessed with so many wonderful friends. (not all shown above. I couldn't find a good picture Beth and Wendy, we'll need to do something about that.) I don't know how I couldn't put all my friends on my favorites list. I depend on them all so much and they help me learn and grow. Really, my friends help keep me going and are definately major contributors to my happiness. I love you all.
Another top contender on my favorites list is the gospel of Jesus Christ. I am blessed to be a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I hope my life has been formed around the teachings of the gospel and I know there is a lot more molding to take place. My favorite part is being able to know learning and changing is always possible.
Next on my list is laughter. I love when laughter is in the room. I don't enjoy when people are laughing at the expense of others but all other sources seem to be wonderful. As you all know, lots of things make me laugh. Keep it comming. I hope all of you find something to laugh about on a frequent basis and if you can't seem to find something, let me know. I can help you out.

The last item on my favorites list for today is Jim Halpert. Really, it's not this ficticious character specifically, although he has a great personality and stunning good looks, it is his representation of men in general. It has been said that men are portrayed on television as egotistical jerks who are unable to be productive, kind, or romantic. My example to contradict that is Jim Halpert. I personally would love to be pursued and cared for like Pam is by Jim. If any of you men out there would like to make my favorites list, please feel free to take lessons from Jim Halpert. :)
(This blog does not mention sleep, certain foods, my job, or autumn on my list of favorites but I sure do love them)!!!

Family--Finally

I know I haven't been very good at updating my blog this summer. Lots has happened. the last two weeks I have been with my family. First I went to Oklahoma to pick my sister up from her mission.
We're glad to have Martha back! While in Oklahoma we were able to visit a couple people Martha taught and go to church in her first area. We also visited the temple in Oklahoma.
It was also nice to see aunts and uncles in Oklahoma. We enjoyed spending time with them and seeing a little more of Oklahoma. It was fun times with Adam, Mindi, Dan, Wendy, and Kim.
While in Oklahoma I found a treasure at Wal-mart. Believe it or not, these are very LARGE pickles in a bag. Yep, They are even named.

Martha was able to come home to a warm welcoming of all her brothers, sisters, nephews, and one niece. We enjoyed a nice weekend playing at the gateway, going to temple square, going to the zoo, and sitting around chatting. ISN'T FAMILY WONDERFUL? I love you guys!

7 seconds

You may be asking what 7 seconds means. It could mean a number of different things like how long it takes to run to first base in softball, . . . . How long my first kiss was? . . . . Maybe even how long I went without a calling after being released as Relief Society President last week. Well if you were to guess any of these you would be wrong. 7 seconds is the perfect amount of time to dunk an Oreo.!!!

Disclaimer-this is not the correct way to dunk an oreo.

It is scietifically proven that when dunking an oreo, if you dunk for 7 seconds, you will have the perfectly dunked treat. You can time it with a stop watch, count 1 mississippi- 2 mississippi, or even have someone else count 1 alligator-2 alligator. No matter how it's done, 7 seconds is the perfect amount of time before you can experience the deliciousness. If any of you think you can prove me wrong then I dare you to give it a try.

Disclaimer: Our friendship is a LOT better than the pictures are :)

HAPPY 29th BIRTHDAY FORDNEY!!!!!!!

Sarah and I have know each other for 16 years now.
She moved across the street from me right before my 13th birthday. We went to junior high, high school, and college together. I am so glad of that. We have shared many memories together and here are some pictures of a couple. Enjoy!!

This picture is in Logan. Shayleen went up to Utah State for school and we all enjoyed going to visit her. This is one of our weekend trips that influenced Sarah to go there for school.

This is a picture of Sarah at Goblin Valley our freshman year of college. We went during spring break and enjoyed the wonderful hikes and four-wheeling. She enjoyed a few more things than that too. :) During college we had tons of fun and took frequent little trips but spring breaks were always an adventure.

This is the infamous prom picture. Yep, I still have it. Please don't get mad at me for sharing it with the world.

This is a high school friend picture we got taken at sears. Thank goodness we all aged really well and learned how to apply make-up and get ready. You can't take away the fact that we had great friends and lots of fun though.
THANKS for being such a big part of my life and being such a great friend Sarah. I hope you have a wonderful birthday. Love ya!

My Special Friends!

I have many, many, many, wonderful friends and if you are reading this, chances are you are one of them. I thought I would take this opportunity to make a little shout out to some of my "Special" friends.
This is Scott in Mexico admiring one of the beautiful jump suits in the window. It's too bad you couldn't afford that one scott. You would have sported it well.
Ouch!!!
Tylor and steve are my"special" friends This is a midnight trip to wal-mart because that is what I like to do with my "special" friends.

This would be Angie. Sometimes we like to take fieldtrips to the movies. Angie really enjoys those trips. :)

Morgan received a fanny-pack for granduation and this is the excitement that exuded from her when she opened it.

I think this is self explanatory.

Natalie loves animals of all kinds. Her favorite thing is to cuddle up real close and snuggle with them. Way to be close with this one nat.

I bet not very many people get to see this side of Emily. Aren't I lucky?

THANKS FOR BEING SOME OF MY SPECIAL FRIENDS!!!!!! SURE DO LOVE YA. :)

Happy 1st Day of Spring!!

One great thing I have been waiting for all winter is golf. Now that spring is here, so is golf. Emily and I live on a golf course and this picture was taken from our patio. This is about 100 yards from the tee box, I'm guessing this kid hasn't been golfing too much but who knows. :) I don't have much room to talk.
Golf fever is in the air so I had to go hit a bucket of balls last night. Emily and i went and I realized I have a lot to work on. My body is feeling a little pull here and there too. I don't know if it is from the golfing or the batting cages. Either one, I'll need to work on that.

This is Emily and her nice back swing. She is better at golfing than me but kind enough to let me go with her. Thanks em. Thanks for helping me to form the addiction as well.

The next picture is of me and that swing isn't too bad for me but it's nice to see that I have poor form and there really is a reason why I'm not the best golfer in the world. :) I over did it a little last night. Hence the pull on my body here and there. (If there are any golf experts out there looking at this, let me know if you can give me a tip by looking at that picture.)

Some may ask why golfing is a fun sport but just try playing for a summer and you might find out why. It really is a self improvement sport and there is something about trying to do better every round you play. It's nice to know that your score directly indicates how you personally play too. Golf is just great.

Just a little tid-bit of information, golf stands for gentlemen only, ladies forbidden. Who knew. I'm glad that has changed. :) Stay tuned for the beginnings of softball and other wonderful outdoor activities that start to take place in the SPRING.

Dignified and hard working. With a gentle and soft-spoken manner you have something many people don't. Patience. Even through the moments of heartbrea

Hey, I just took a fun little quiz on my sister-in-law's blog. It is one of those that tells which princess you are. Here is the description given to me :
Dignified and hard working. With a gentle and soft-spoken manner you have something many people don't. Patience. Even through the moments of heartbreak you're still able to hold onto all of your hopes and dreams. Bide your time; your dream will come true.
The princess that goes along with that is Cinderella. I'm kind of happy about that because last time I took one of these quizzes at Disneyland I was ursula. :) My sister-in-law's description is a good one and quite accurate too. You should try the quiz. To get to it you can click on Tommy and Ashley under my friends and family and the quiz link is on there.
Let me know who you are.

Long time no blog

It has been awhile and my excuse is that i don't have anything new happening in my life. Some may say that the single life is fun and exciting but it really doesn't leave a whole lot to blog about. Last week i did get to go to the Colbie Caillat and I enjoyed it even though I was nice and sick. Snot was running everywhere but i wasn't going to NOT go, plus it just helped me to have more standing room. No one wanted to stand by me. :) You know you are at a good concert when that happens. This cool guy I had never heard of opened for her. His name is Trevor Hall. Look him up, he's good.
Work life, church life (yes it has been three years and I am still R.S. pres. in a singles ward), and social life have taken up my time but it's just been "normal" and "enjoyable" and I can't complain about that. I'll try to find a few more exciting things about my life and let you all know about them. I'll try and let you know about the not so exciting things as well too. :) P.S. if you haven't checked out the link to the sledding video you should. (It's right above the picture of my roommate and I at the top of the pg.) My friend Steve makes great videos and the sledding one put a smile on my face. Chat with you later, Jennie

Please forgive all the wonderful spelling and gramatical errors I made on my previous blog, I'm tired and my mind doesn't think as well as most when it comes to writing. I'm not a natural.

Shoes!!!!

Shoes have power. I love shoes just like everyone else. Admit it. you like shoes. Shoes can change the personality of an outfit and most often they define the mood of the person wearing them. Shoes are wonderful and I want to introduce you to some of my shoes.

The picture of my cowby boots go erased but they are on my top shelf as you see above. :)
These go way back. I purchased them with Sarah and Shayleen. These boots have listened to country music, have been country dancing, gone to a couple rodeo's, and more recently have riden a mechanical bull. I purchased them at Reams, what more can I say.

These red shoes have a personality of their own. When I wear them, they are the only thing that get noticed. It is almost as if I weren't wearing anything else. The first time I wore them it was to church. I got a lot of comments on them but the best was when a guy walked up to me and said "I like your red shoes" I attempted to say that they weren't something I would normally where I fumbled over my words and only got out "They're . . . . " with a long pause that he filled in by saying "They're red". I giggled and he walked off with a smile on his face. :) I wear these when I want to feel a little flirty.

These shoes are relatively new. I wear them all the time and they are quite comfortable. They don't really receive specific attention but they don't distract from my clothes or my personality either. I have a fondness for these shoes and I think it is my conservative side that really grasps onto them.

These are my Chacos. I long for warm days when I can wear them again whithout freezing my toes off. These might be the only shoes you see me in during the summer so enjoy the variety that you get now. :) These sandals have been everywhere I have been in the last year or two. They have been to Disneyland, Oklahoma, New York, Boston, Mexico, Grand Cayman Islands, and Jamaica. I where these shoes anywhere and everywhere and I feel prepared to do anything in them. Unfortunately they don't see the light of day in the winter. :(

These are some shoes I purchased this week. All of you hoochies out there have inspired my and my wardrobe. They kind of have the appearance of super hero boot when I put them on and let me tell you, they contain power as well. I wore them to the temple this week and the old temple worker watched me strut in, smiling the whole time, and wispered "I really love boots" She didn't say she loved my boots but just boots in general. I must have been walking like I loved them too. After the temple I went to a sporting goods store to purchase snow boots. I walked in dressed as though I had never been in a sporting goods store in my life but acted like I pretty much owned the place. The male shoe stocker who helped me find some snow boots said it was too bad the ones I was wearing didn't have insulation and I could just wear them. I'm telling you, those boots know how to get noticed. :) I wear these shoes when I feel like owning the world.
Aren't shoes wonderful?

So yesterday I went to a wedding. It was a good wedding and I thoroughly enjoyed the day. Yes, it was an all day event. I was also able to see some friends that I haven't seen for a long time. Some of the thoughts that come to mind when I think about yesterday and some of the preparations that led up to it are that there are so many different people in the world. People have different priorities, family's, beliefs, personalities, knowledge, likes and dislikes, occupations, since of humor, and so on (I'm sure you get the picture). Amazingly enough there is someone for everyone out there. I have a lot of wonderful people in my life and like I mentioned earlier they are all different. I am grateful for this fact. I am glad everyone is different. Even though differences make some events, discussions, relationships, or even life in general more challenging, it's a good thing we have them. I am grateful for everyone who has put up with my differences. :) I hope they are worth putting up with. I don't know the true inspiration behind my thoughts today but I thought I would share them anyway.

So, I'm giving this blog thing a shot. You can thank my friends Sarah and Shaylene because I was just reading theirs and found out that I learned a lot about them. Hopefully this will be a good way for me to express myself. Just kidding. I really want to use it as a way of keeping in touch with those people whom I love so much but don't get to hear about all the crazy things I do on a regular basis. Thank you all for the inspiration. :) Just a little up date on what has been going on in my life recently, I am still a nurse and go to work occasionally. Really I work full time but I was able to take a nice three week vacation this Christmas. I went on a cruise with some wonderful friends and then i was able to spend some good quality time with my family. I actually got sick and wasn't able to hold my nephew for four days while I lounged around my parents house. When I got back from vacation I moved. I now live with my friend Emily in Pleasant View. She has a wonderful house and it has been really nice living here. I'm actually sitting in the kitchen telling her about a dream I had last night. In this dream Shaq O'Neal (Yes, the big basketball player) was in love with me but I told him I just wanted to be friends. I then proceeded to kiss him. I was a great kisser in the dream. :) Well, I should get to bed because I have to wake up at 4am tomorrow. Gotta love it. I'll chat soon.
